Community health nursing refers to the health status of the members of the community, to the problems affecting their health, and to the totality of health care provided for the community. It implies integration of curative, preventive and promotional health services.

Community health nursing is included in the 2nd year and 4th year of the B. Sc. Nursing Programme. It is designed for students to appreciate the principles of promotion and maintenance of health. It enable students to practice community health nursing for the individual, family and groups at both urban and rural settings by using concept and principles of health and community health nursing.
